Remington Gun Club vs STS, any difference?

Their web site seems to suggest the only difference is "Gun Club" quality shot vs. "STS" quality shot. Is that a difference in antimony or roundness/quality, or just marketing?

Has anyone been able to tell a difference in patterning the same loads in GC and STS? Any noticable difference in shooting clays in any sport?

Thanks

I'd say that I'd trust big green to be delivering a "Premium" shell with the STS and a "Good Quality" shell with the Gun Clubs. (I've heard the difference discribed that way)....otherwise I'd think they wouldn't sell....and Both outsell just about anything else, and certainly to shooters that reload....the cheepo's and the Eurotrash are available at less for folks that primarily want bang, but I believe top shooters (certainly not me of course  ) can tell the higher quality of the premium product..
Are they "Top Shooters" because of the premium shells?...Probably not, but when the top folks compete with the top folks... I think they all want to use wharever gives them an edge....My scores wouldn't reflect much difference.....
I do know that the "Gun Club" hulls are as long lasting for reloading as the STSs....IMO.....Art

We reloaded a mix of STS and gun clubs. The gun clubs didn't last as long, but they were still pretty close. Gun clubs cost 20 bucks for 1000 hulls including shipping where I got them, STS were 50.

We always shot winchester AA's at our annual turkey shoots. This past year I changed to Remington Gun Club Target shells. I had alot of disappointed shooters because we only got about half as many pellets in the targets as the AA's, and the patterns were inconsistant. We shoot targets 7in square at 90 ft. When we shot clays with them there wasn't much difference. Going back to AA's next shoot, but will cintinue to use Remingtons for clays.

I reload STS, Gun Club, and Rem's Black hulls. To be honest I like the Black hulls better than the Gun Club, but all three reload great.
I also find the STS don't last much longer than the other two and all use the same components.
Same here. All three work awesome for reloading. Best part where I go shooting is pretty much everyone who goes there shoots a mix of these 3 shells. And NONE of them reload. So everytime we go to the range, we tell the guys to just leave their hulls on the ground, we'll be happy to pick them up. I would have to say I have between 6 to 7 thousand hulls stored up in my garage. Majority of those being Gun Clubs and Black hulls.

its a classic marketing strategy.
tell them its better and they will pay more. but in this case the difference IS the lead quality.

i by lead AT the remington FACTORY on location in ark..
sts hulls are loaded with a lead that has a minimum 6% (big fancy word i just forgot! )

and btw....all remington lead is MADE IN USA.

Around here GC and STS are $1.00 apart and as far as I can tell, the STS have brass rims and better-made boxes for reloading

For hunting, I like the STS shells in 20ga better than the Gun Club shells. It may all be in my head, but I seem to shoot better with the STS shells out in the dove fields. However, in 20ga, I like the Win AA supersport shells better than Rem STS and I like the B&P F2 Classic shells better than the AA supersports. The B&P shells are 15/16oz @ 1280 FPS which is a great combination in the field....both #7s & #8s are lethal on the doves. My trusty golden retriever can attest to that!
