Very good barrel. I have one on my 870 and it is a shooter. Mine loves lightfield slugs. I cant comment on that scope but I will say that I wouldnt use the scope myself.
Put the scope on your kid's .22 and leave it at that.
My Mossberg 870 cantilever barrel is fine. It is about 3 years old. It eats just about anything with acceptable accuracy.
I don't think you'll save any money if you can find it without the scope. It's a package deal and usually the scope is pretty much a freebie.
Like the others have said, put the cheap scope on a .22 or give it away as a gift to someone you don't like much. :wink:
