Good day all. New to the forum. Happy new year. Had a quick question on the rizzini sporter x. The x model looks like it has a mid size rib. I am still learning about rib height as I always shot semi autos. Your typical field shotgun. The sporter x, is that shotgun mainly for trap or can it be used for sporting clays as well? what happened was, I ordered the regular br110 sporter. No idea what happened, but, rizzini just kept dropping the ball and they shipped the x model. One year!! I got fed up and said forget it. what are your guys thoughts on the br110 sporter x? would love some expert advice. I am still learning the different shooting styles. Been going to the range and tried both. I do prefer sporting.

Flat Rib, Mid Rib, High Rib are all good for any of the sports. It depends how you like to be setup, 50/50, 60/40, 70/30... I shoot a High Rib sporting gun setup at 50/50 for sporting clays. I can take the same gun over the the trap field and keep the same setup and break birds. Now if I was more into trap I'd probably setup the gun differently, 60/40, 70/30 as trap presentations favor this setup to give you advantage to see the clay quicker. If sporting is your game then my preference is to keep it 50/50. Which you should be able to setup on a Flat rib, Mid rib or High rib..

Happy new year and enjoy your new gun...

Correct.. Head over to the patterning board and you can see it in action. If you raise the comb slightly, it should raise the pattern. Same goes for lowering it. Just keep in mind that you don't want to drop it down too far. "Bead in front of bead" is usually the maximum before you'll cause head lifting issues.
