So, I tried to help out a new shooter this morning who was having a problem with his new Yildiz. Upon disassembling the gun, it was easy to tell that the monobloc portion of the Yildiz barrels were identical to the naked eye to the monobloc of my BR110 barrels! Right down to the little line of decorative "engraving" running around the rear edge. So is Rizzini having their barrels made in Turkey, or has Yildiz copied Rizzini Barrels down to the last detail. My barrels say "Rizzini V.T. Marchena Italy" on them, but don't actually say "Made in Italy." This is a little disturbing.

Why is it disturbing? First of all, was it a Yildiz Pro, which would likely cost more than your Rizzini in the USA? Or was it one of their Academy guns that sell for around $400-700. The Pro is likely just as good as your gun if not better. Another possibility is that Rizzini is making barrels for certain Yildiz guns. Not likely, but possible. What model do you have, the BR110? That is a basic gun, and I could see RIzzini farming out barrel production for that gun to a Turkish manufacturer. I just heard from a friend that Beretta is getting some parts made in Turkey. Was your wood as nice as his? How about the engraving? How much did he pay? Lots of things to consider before you think you may have been bamboozled. Most importantly, Yildiz makes a very respectable product no matter what the closed minded habitues of SGW think.

1. Turkish armaments are perhaps sneered at by an older generation more than they should be. The Bayraktar TB-2 is currently performing rather well in combat. Ahem. More to the point, AKUS has made superlative guns for SKB, Smith & Wesson, Webley & Scott, etc. It's also my understanding that Beretta has outsourced to Turkish companies various component/assembly responsibilities up to (but not beyond) the limits imposed by requirements for Italian value added to say a firearm is 'made in Italy'. I don't know if Rizzini has followed suit. I do know that Rizzini outsources the engraving for most of its really high end stuff to another Italian firm.
2. Is Rizzini supplying Yildiz with barrels? I dunno, but it's part of Rizzini lore that Batista Rizzini several decades ago tooled up to meet anticipated volumes that an (American?) importer couldn't/didn't meet, and really had to scramble to avoid losing his shirt. There are a lot of Rizzini's besides him, and when you add in the various family connections, it gets fairly unclear. So maybe a Rizzini entity (who knows which one) is doing something with/for a Turkish company.

Not sure which Yildiz model you are referring too but it would not be a Yildiz Pro. The Yildez pro is a boss action gun similar to Perazzi, Kolar, and Rizzini BR460. The BR110 has an bottom lug action like Ceaser Guirini Summit, and Fabarm N2. Not sure who actually manufactures the barrels for the BR110 or the un-named Yildiz model but they could very well be from the same factory.
Yildiz Pro claim they get their barrel steel from Italy, but are CNC'd/made in Turkey. Rizzini might be trading barrel steel for machining work on the barrels. In that case it's likely a win-win scenario as the Turks use modern CNC tech vs the economy hand-fit of the 'lower end' Italian guns.
