its time for my annual maintenance at KOLAR and since I've got plenty of new back-up shotguns to use while its away--i thought now would be a good time.
So i want to get the LATEST info on shipping etc because i know things have "changed" recently.
What shippers are being used? Its obviously going back to the factory and NOT going to a FFL so i wanted to mention that. Just want to know everything that's new and different so i can make this happen with a minimum amount of grief!
PLEASE ADVISE AND THANKS IN ADVANCE

UH, Kolar HAS an FFL - you can be sure of that> Secondly, USPS still takes long guns from non-FFL - ship it the most insured and secured method

Safe from WHAT?
Ship via USPS using their most secured method and insure it for the value.

In the last year I have sent 3 long guns back to Browning for the Dura Touch recall. Browning provided a prepaid UPS label. Boxed them up and dropped them off at a UPS store. They shipped directly back to me signature required. I needed no FFL assistance for these actions.
The prepaid shipping label is the secret sauce.

By UPS' own tariff, firearms are not allowed to be dropped off at these franchise locations, so you are correct - they do not know their own rules. If something was to happen, UPS has an out on refusing your claim

I agree on USPS.. I have a seperate policy for my guns from my insurer. I just sent my gun back for service through FedX.. Printed my own label at home, took it in, paid, no questions asked. Sent from Alaska. 4 days later it arrived. Paid more than USPS, but it can be done with no FFL. FedX recommended printing your own labels.
