I didn’t take as many “artistic” or dog work shots as I usually do. Disappointed myself.

Good times with a good crew. Dad, bro in law, my boss, my peer, contractor buddy and his son who was also our intern. And their buddies from South Dakota hosting us. Great times.

I regret not working with Milo as much on dead birds as I should have. But he saved the day more than a few times on downed birds.

An hours walk before my boss had to head to airport on the 3rd day.

Good photo backdrop.

Gotta love the antique rakes for photoshoots.

Combines work good, but hard to arrange the birds sliding down the feeder house.

My new 110 year old 16 gauge. Unmarked German gun. I have its identical twin from 1919 too.

Quite the crew

My new Model 12 16 did ok. Need to lengthen the stock though.

The pictures are great.....Your 16 gauge M12 has the old style perch belly stock. LOP is around 13 3/4 with a lot of drop. You could check eBay for a replacement that came off of a newer 16 or 20 gauge. LOP will be around 14 with less drop. Or, just put a pad on the existing stock. Is the chamber marked 2 3/4? if not, it could be at 2 9/16 on those older 16s, but if your empties are clearing the ejection port, then you're probably good.

You’re definitely right on all accounts. I’m kicking around making a complete new stock for it. But might throw a pad on it in the interim.
It does have a short chamber. I put a fired 2 3/4 in it and it won’t eject. Have been shooting short cut hand loads through it.

My plan is to have ejection port and chamber lengthened. Then try my hand at rust bluing just for fun.
