Yes, excellent gunsmith and stock man.

 

Wenig gunstocks about an hour East of KC is about as good as you can find and Jimmy, the shop foreman and gunfitter does an excellent job. The link below is a posting I made with a lot of pictures while getting a fitted butt stock made by Wenig for a 16 ga SXS. That gun has become my go to quail gun this year.

The OP asked for recommendations "near Kansas City". I took that to mean in the five county metro area. Augusta is quite a hike as is the St. Louis area and Warsaw isn't that close either. Maybe I misunderstood....

 

Actually I'm not too opposed to a bit of a road trip. I'm actually about an hour north of kc. There's one fella around here but i was interested in more options. Any recommendations in Missouri kansas, nebraska, or iowa are more than welcome.
