Happy 20,000 posts Sir! {hs#

And a very special thanks to you, Chris.

I never ignore anybody, on purpose, you know?

Especially not folks that were represented by Evan Butler at the state capitol in Raleigh.

Super X One, congratulations on your milestone. For me you are a little like Obama: I think that I would enjoy having a few beers with you, but we are never going to agree politically!

It says something about a persons mental state when the first retort they form is related to homosexuality. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_projection

I always feel a bit of melancholy when I see these old threads that have posters in it that either don't post anymore, have passed, or have the banned status. It's like opening up a time capsule. I joined here when I was 15 and 34 now so I basically grew up with you all as an extended family. Sounds cringy as heck, but it's true.

I'm with Maser, this thread is like the rustling of autumn leaves ... the dry husks of SuperX and cbxchris being blown along the empty streets as the light falls; it'll be the Warsaw Concerto next. ;)

Having said that, I'm happier with the pair of them to be consigned to the corporate compost heap rather than otherwise, though for different reasons.

He often stated that he was from Humansville, MO. And from his description you would think that it was in the heart of the Ozark woods and he grew us as the Walton’s John Boy: not a chance! Drive trough it someday and you will find flat farm fields in every direction with hardly a hill in sight. He could spin a yarn, but I suspect that there was some prevarication woven in it.

I mean, before farmers had GPS to utilize every inch of their fields for yield, there was a lot more forest 50+ years ago.

Regardless, most of his lore revolves around being witness to the fall of the model 12 as America's most popular shotgun and the rise of the 870.

Dude, is obviously a Winchester fanboy, but if that's what he grew up with, you can't blame him.

Blathered on about Remingtons also throwing the best patterns, AR-15s as “people killers”, Ithaca 37s being as fine as bespoke English doubles, and linked to the most God awful twangy music videos.
His fear of the plandemic sent him over the edge. Never saw a case of paranoia like it before.

Pandemic was hard on a lot of folks. Honestly, seeing the antivax movement turn from a Facebook group for moms into a mainstream idea was... Sad to say the least.

Like I am not afraid of vaccines. I signed up for experimental vaccines during my time in service. To me, they're like getting a software patch for your immune system.

That said, the paranoia was real and older people did have more to fear when it came down to it.

I'm sure the fella in question is doing ok.....maybe planning for the next time when he can, as he himself noted, deliberately gut-shooting deer(s) of any age.....he also outlined that he really hates deer.

I personally hope he is spending his free time learning a bit about birddogs.....he fishes a shallow pond there and my concern is, of course, for dem dogs.
