Honestly, he writes really nicely and has like this "old timey" take on things.

Kind of rare to see now a days.

 

Yeah, he wrote so nicely that, after repeated warnings and time outs, he got himself permanently banned.

 

I always feel a bit of melancholy when I see these old threads that have posters in it that either don't post anymore, have passed, or have the banned status. It's like opening up a time capsule. I joined here when I was 15 and 34 now so I basically grew up with you all as an extended family. Sounds cringy as heck, but it's true.

 

Reading his stories about growing up with shotguns and what it was like before the internet when it came to being a shotgun enthusiast, was what prompted me to join the forum.

He really was passionate to say the least. Don't know what he did, but with 28k posts, he def was one of the more active people I imagine.

Pandemic was hard on a lot of folks. Honestly, seeing the antivax movement turn from a Facebook group for moms into a mainstream idea was... Sad to say the least.

Like I am not afraid of vaccines. I signed up for experimental vaccines during my time in service. To me, they're like getting a software patch for your immune system.

That said, the paranoia was real and older people did have more to fear when it came down to it.

 

I have the strangest feeling that that he's back. Time will tell, and it wouldn't bother me a bit.

 

I'm sure the fella in question is doing ok.....maybe planning for the next time when he can, as he himself noted, deliberately gut-shooting deer(s) of any age.....he also outlined that he really hates deer.

I personally hope he is spending his free time learning a bit about birddogs.....he fishes a shallow pond there and my concern is, of course, for dem dogs.
