I bought the Decked Drawer System for a new gas F-250 in 2017. I didn't want to put a topper on that truck but wanted relatively secure storage. I used it with a tool box, sometimes called a contractors tool box that goes across the bed behind the cab. It was sort of a love hate arrangement. The decked system is everything they say it is but it isn't perfect. Number one issue is the back half of the drawers are almost inaccessible as they only pull half way out. Fine for your long guns but anything else needs to have a way to pull it out from the back. I use an old hooked stock cane from knee surgery and a system of para cord and snap links to retrieve stuff. The next thing is that items you would casually load into your truck bed now stick up pretty high and require being tied in. Examples are spare gas/fuel cans, grills, folding picnic tables and the like for camping. Next issue is weight. I think I read up that it weighed 225-250 lbs. I seem to recall after a weigh in and some math, mine weighed in at 240 (ish).
I took it out of that truck for a year or so and was happier without it since the tool box was enough.
Then I bought another F-250 but this time a diesel and put it back in and then added a 220 lbs topper. I am very pleased at this point. Check back in with me in a couple years. How much is a Kenworth anyhow :^)
