Tristar Raptor???

This would be my first post even though I have been lurking for some time. I recently picked up a Tristar Raptor from walmart with the intent to extending the mag tube. From what I have read the they accept 870 extension with slight mods. However an 870 extension will not fit mine. While searching on the net I noticed that my raptor looks a bit different than the other raptors out there. The magazine cap is different, the stock, the forearm as well as the magazine cap. Any ideas why this one is different from all the other pics on the net and what mag extension will fit? top pic is mine bottom is the most common one. Thanlks in advance for any input.

The Benelli Nova was what I was going to suggest. All those Turkish guns usually have the same threads. Be more specific on the issue. Is it threading on but not all the way or doesn't it thread on at all? I can tell you an 870 and 930 both have the same thread pattern but the 930 is deeper. If the 870 threads work but it was too shallow to thread down all the way, a 930 extension may work.

After speaking with Tri-Star customer service rep they stated that they could not tell me specifics for legal reasons but that the model I have is the newest model and has the same tube as the viper. They did tell me that the threads were the same but at the older models which I know will accept Rem 870 tubes. The only thing that I can think is maybe my mag tube is too long and needs to have some material removed so the extension can grab the threads. Is there any adverse effect to removing a 1/4-1/2inch of thefactory tube??

wow,

They really changed the gun didn't they? The pictures of your gun and the pictures of the original model raptor are so different that they are not even close. Different reciever, trigger , grip angle, grip/stock shape/comb, forearm, barrel... geez.. Them two guns are as different as they get.

Well I think they changed a lot of little things but no really huge changes the main one is the mag tube is completely different than the older models which from what I have read would take remington magazine extensions. This one will not the threads are different I dont know if that was done to keep folks from adding a tube or for another reason either way I have yet to find a tube that works.

If you're still having problems finding an extension, King's Armory makes a 3 round for Escort pumps and semi's that also fit a Weatherby (all are Turkish made like your Raptor). Here's a link to my post in the forums here http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=395452
After some discussion with Joey @ KA Tech, He thinks we have a fit..... I have ordered, I will update results after I get a chance to try it.

Alright, After finally receiving the extension from Kings Armory... (I chose the snailmail USPS Free shipping version - don't advise) The threads are perfect! I will, tonight make sure all is right and post some pictures.. But I think we have a workable +2 extension. I'll make it work and post results and any modifications I needed as soon as I can. Joey In Tech there was a huge help! THANKS NHShotty & JOEY!

King's Armory KA-LE01 KA-LE01 magazine extension

EDIT: Ok guys, Looks like I'm going to need to take about 1/8" off the magazine tube in order to make this work, but the threads are good match so I don't see any issues with this being a great fit. I am going to run another few boxes of shells through it before performing (altering) to make sure I don't have any warranty issues, that Tristar might reject should I perform prior, but, this extension will work with the minor modification. I'll post results in a week or so

Sorry for the delay. I Ended up not cutting the magazine. Lathed myself a small brass bushing exactly a 1/4" heigth 1" ID and 1-5/16 OD fit between the forestock and extension with about a 1/8 of a turn for tension and perfect alignment between the extension tube and magazine tube. worked like a top...new spring and voila 7+1 capacity. Test fired it yesterday and all is perfect with no alterations to the weapon.
