Hello all, I recently put a order in for a new shotgun from Upland Gun Co. So far the process has been enjoyable and painless. I took a trip to eastern New York to have my gun fitting done which was a really great expierience, took about 2 hours and learned a lot (as a lefty the gun fitting and custom stock dimensions were really important to me). The specs are as follows:

Model: Venus
Gauge: 20
Color: Case Hardened
Engraving: Full coverage relief w/gold woodcock on bottom of reciever
Barrel Length: 29” with Extractors
Chokes: Fixed, SK and IC
Rib: Concave
Trigger: Double Triggers and long trigger tang
Stock: English Straight Stock
Foreend: Splinter
Wood: Grade 3
Butt Pad: Orange Rubber
Bead: Brass

Just yesterday they sent me a few wood blanks to choose from. Leaning towards 1 or 3

When I had my 16 ga Zeus built, I got a wood upgrade and asked them to weigh all 12 blanks they offered. The lightest blank had straight grain with interesting mineral striping. Wanting a light bird gun, in addition to having it built on a 20 ga frame (no longer available), I chose the lightest blank. I was rewarded with my lightest 16 ga at 6 pounds 3 ounces despite having a POW stock with a semi-beavertail forend. Couldn't be happier with the gun.

You know I’m actually a little worried that this gun is going to be a little too light, it’s advertised at 5.5lbs and I have a straight grip and splinter forend so it’s going to be very light. I opted for a little longer barrel than I had originally planned so that the balance is good.

I’m glad you had a good expierience. How long have you had your Zeus now?

As a leftie I understand the gun fit issue too. I hope you get the gun of your dreams. Years ago (2008?) I bought a custom LH 12 gauge O/U Huglu, two barrel set (28 & 32), from DeHann and have shot the heck out of it. Best move I even made.

Very nice! I'm certain you will love your gun. I've got a 28 bore Zeus with 29" barrels, English stock, splinter forend, ejectors, threaded chokes, etc. This will be its third season. I have shot it alot. I'm sure its had well over 2500 rounds through it and its been spectacular. I've had no complaints with my gun or Upland Gun Company. In fact, I would say their customer service has been exceptional.
