I recently purchased this shotgun. Was hard to resist a good looking wall hanger. It has a safety lever on the bottom that has to be squeezed to fire it. I’m curious if anyone knows of a good reference to find more info on it/what it may be worth. I’ve done some google searches without much luck.
Sides and top of barrel say Boston in cursive and Wakefield. Barrels are Damascus. There’s 4 proof marks under the barrel. Looks like both barrels have the same set of 2. I believe they indicate it’s a Birmingham maker prior to the Civil War.

And a trade label for Boston of Wakefield

Yes, the proof marks are Birmingham. Is there no number, like '13'?

It looks to have a variant of the Manton Grip Safety

John Boston; Wood Street, Wakefield, Yorkshire, England. Trading from 1827 until about 1857.

Could you please post a close up image of the grip safety?
And a section of barrel where the pattern is most apparent and I'll 'read' the crolle pattern.
