If you want to be technical he is a Deutsch Drahthaar, the german registry for a GWP. I live in Missoula MT (west central) Montana and hunt just about anywhere in the state. South West for elk, central for mule deer and antelope. North central for the best birds except cental for sage and sharptail. This pic was after a retrieve in single digit temps on the lower flathead river (big river, about 100-200 yds across).
