I've got a pair of cabelas that are 3 or so seasons old, and also a pair of mule chaps (which are nice but make a swishing noise my buddy notices). Anywho, just looking at getting a new set of pants for the upcoming season. Climate/terrain of use is upper midwest pheasant fields and sloughs.

Not to hijack the thread, but what's the reason for special facing on upland pants? I hunt in the mountains and prairies of Montana, including cattail sloughs and gullies with rose bushes, and have never worn special pants. We do walk around buffaloberry bushes. My hunting partner wears blue jeans. What are we missing?

5.11 tactical series pants. I have grown to like the cargo pant as the pockets come in handy but the traditional pant style is just as tough. Mine are all from the lightweight line as I'd rather add long underwear in the winter than fry in the summer with the heavier material.

I have several pairs from when I was working and they just won't die. Maybe if I babied them trying to prolong their life things would be different but I'm trying to wear them out to make room on the shelf. Resist brambles and thorns well and dry out quickly if the get wet. Far better than any jeans or canvas and cooler when hot.

Kevin’s Outdoor in Thomasville GA. They will face pants for you. I don’t buy pants just for this as jusanothajoe says he does, but I have sent old, worn out and getting-holey jeans and khakis that fit well to them and when faced, it’s a fresh start for pants I know fit well for briar proof hunting.

Gentlemen,

I have been using Browning Gore-Tex Grouse pants for many years, in fact I now own Gore-Tex brush pants from LL Bean, Columbia and a couple others. No more heavy chaps for me, I want something water proof and silent as I walk thru the Grouse woods. Unfortunately Browning does not make their incredible Gore-Tex Grouse pants any more. Dan
has some nice Gore-Tex Brush pants as a substitute.

all the best,

Pine Creek/Dave
