Most used shotgun, Mossberg pump action, Model
500, the label says 410 bore Crown Grade Bantam
24.0” VR fixed full choke, youth size stock. It is black
with black synthetic stocks.
Most favorite, rarest and hunt Pheasants with, is my
Ruger Gold Label English stocked Side by Side 12ga.
Beautiful figured wood and very light weight, 6 pounds.
Pretty much an even mix between Japan, Italy, and USA at the moment. At one time Belgium would have been a walk off but I've sold all but two over the years.
Always interesting that most people say that their "favorite" is what they already have. If you asked the same people if they could have any gun available on the market, I suspect the answers would be different.
Gentlemen,
The USA home of L.C. Smith/Hunter Arms produced my families favorite guns. Our family way back helped Hunter Arms get into business. L.C. Smith - Americas Best! John Houchins, Nick Makinson, Dave Buehner, Walt Schiessl.
I gave up on hunting 10 years ago. At that time Remington 1100 was my favorite. If I were still hunting today it may be a Beretta, not sure. !!00 always got the job done for me.
Grouse & Woodcock: German, 20ga. Merkle 122-E
Dove: Spanish, 12ga. AYA Round Action #2
Pheasant, Sharptails & Hun’s: Italian, 12ga. Beretta Black Onyx
M37 16ga. 2 barrel set, 28” & 24” as a back up for all
My favorite is a Beretta 391 20ga. I've been dragging it around for the last 20 years. Before I figured out the spaghetti guns fit me better and were easier for me to hit with, I used to drag around a Remington 870 with the then new LC barrel or an 11-87 SP for waterfowl.
Italy is running away with this poll. Can't say I didn't see this coming. They make so many guns there. There's a pile of different guns made in the same valley!
Germany. I have been pondering the idea of culling my collection/accumulation of the odd antique and modern stuff I have gotten over the years and investing in a Merkel 210E. A 16 over 8 x 57 with a removable low powered scope would cover 99% of my hunting needs today.
