Just went to my local gun shop and looked at a brand new Winchester SX4 Semi Auto And fell in love with it 😃

it doesn’t come with the short Barrel but it’s more like a duck/Goose shotgun anyhow but would function as a great Turkey Gun the guy said.

after then looking at a Mossberg 835 ulti mag in woodland camo I settled for the Winchester in mossy oak bottomland
In a left handed version…

it costs almost the same price so I figured if a man’s gonna spend this money, might as well buy something that would fit better

Well I was going to but….. I’m hearing awful things about them from a lot of people, shoots high and left. Shoots high and right

Jams, and all sorts of other things…

I was warned that if I bought one I would regret it and to stick with a Mossberg pump action and just stick with what I know ….

If you have anything to add or say that might change my mind i

You made the correct choice. You can buy a Turkey choke. The left hand SX4 is an amazing gun. I am assuming it is the 3 .5 inch . 28 inch barrel ? I have the same gun in shadow grass habitat.i had the field model in right hand and changed it over to a left hand safety. Had a 26 inch and 28 inch barrel. Shot everything with it including turkey. When they came out with the leftySX4 i sold the RH and purchased the leftie. I shoot trap Skeet, ducks, Turkey all with 28 inch and various chokes. Gun handles all loads and is a really soft shooter. I Don't use 3.5 shells but could if I want to I have the option. You wnt be disappointed by your choice.

I have waterfowl hunted with a number of younger guys shooting the SX4. I have never heard of problems with poa and poi. I know Winchester makes a Sx4 Turkey model. Maybe they make it in left handed if you want a shorter barrel?

I bought a brand new mossberg 835 turkey gun a few years back. That was going to be my full camo turkey gun. It had fiber optic front and rear sights on the vent rib. That piece of junk shot so high at 40 yards it would shoot right over a turkey target. Mossberg would not make it right at all. They told me on the phone to use a 6 o'clock hold. I would have had to aimed at the turkeys feet to hit it in the head. I sent their customer service a big email. Got a response they would be contacting me soon and I am still waiting. I sold the gun at a significant loss making the new owner aware of the issues. That 835 was a terrible Kicker in my opinion. I'm back to using my old non-camo turkey gun that works well and doesn't kick as bad. I was really disappointed in Mossbergs response. I won't ever give them anymore money.
