I went to Academy to check the fit of the steel receiver Yildiz and saw the Sporting HPS model.
The main differences I can find are 30" vs 28" barrels, and the barrels on the Spirting are ported. The comb on the Sporting is adjustable.
Both have steel receivers.
Both seem to fit me equally well.

Is the Sporting worth the extra $200.00?

This will be mainly for dove season and some sporting clays. Since I recently retired I am planning to shoot more clays and maybe skeet, but it will be for fun.

I just picked it up. I figured out the differences in the models I looked at. I am goong by memory so if I mess up I will correct it.
There is an SPZ ME steel receiver with 28" barrels and internal choke tubes. They also have the SPZ ME HPS Legacy that also has 28" barrels, a steel receiver but has extended choke tubes.
Then there is the one I bought. The SPZ ME Sporting has 30" barrels, steel receiver and extended choke tubes. This also has an adjustable comb, and the stock is a little beefier I think. The forearm isn't the slim semi-schnabel looking wood. It just looks substantial. It also has nice figure in the wood.
It slso comes with a hard case to carry it broken down.
All in all it seems to be a really nice shotgun.
When I mounted it it came naturally to my eye.
I will give a report when I get it out to shoot.

I think you got good value for your extra $200. You can't go wrong with an adjustable comb. Never know when that will come in handy. The extra barrel length makes the gun a bona fide player for sporting. And steel is real. The extra 1+ pound of centered weight it provides goes a long way to taming recoil. Enjoy. Enjoy. Enjoy.

I have seen a few different model names for the one I bought.
Academy has it listed on their website as a Yildiz SPorting HPS
The label on the box is Yildiz SPZ ME SC.
When I look up a Yildiz sporting I keep finding pages about a Pro Sporting which seems to be a much higher grade shotgun.

I am having a very hard time finding info about my shotgun, even on the Yildiz website.
All you need to know is how to shoot it.
I understand that, but the lack of info is puzzling. The adjustable comb, 30" ported barrel and steel receiver should Make it easy to identify, especially with the model name on the sticker and slightly different model name on the hang tag, but there is nothing on this shotgun.

I just bought one myself today. I/m brand new to over under shotguns. How do you tighten the extended chokes? My gun didnt come with a choke wrench. Just tighten them by hand?
Finger tight works for most people. You may get a little loosening over 150 rounds shot, but it is usually not a problem. Just remember to check them every now and then.

If you want the chokes tighter and have normal notches on the ends of them, you can buy a standard choke wrench just about anywhere guns and such are sold.

Out of curiosity I stopped by the local Academy and gave one a look over.

I'm pretty sure that apart from the receiver etchings, it's pretty much what Yildiz has listed on their site as the MX Trap. Now, I do see fairly recent European references to an MX Clays, so maybe Yildiz has renamed it and not updated their site, which doesn't show an MX Clays.

My impression was pretty favorable. It has the steel receiver, and that combined with the 30" barrels and more mass in the stock, should make it much more suitable for target shooting than the field models. For me, even with comb all the way down it was still high enough to get my line of sight slightly above the rib. So, it shouldn't be much of a trick to get it patterning high enough for trap.

If I was looking for a Turkish made target gun, and wanting to save a little more money than going CZ, I'd be looking hard at this HPS Sporting and the Weatherby Orion Sporting, and it'd probably come down to personal fit.
