I know exactly how you feel. First nick or scratch sucks. In my experience, unless it’s significant, it’s best to not mess with it. Often the “repair” looks worse than the scratch. Enjoy the gun and after a few years and a few more blemishes have it re-blued.

 

Yea those were kind of my thoughts as well.

 

Buy some birchwood casey super blue. Very easy to use. It may not be a perfect match, but you’ll be the only one who can see it.

 

I had a wear spot on my beretta 694 I tried to touch it up and made it a lot worse.
Super blue ate the Beretta bluing .

 

Shoot it until you get more wear and scratched and then send it to Zoli over the off-season. Their re-blue rates were very, very reasonable.

 

How does the Matt finish hold up on the new zoli barrels.
I have a Greystone one coming It has matt finish on barrels .

 

My dark side finish is holding up very nicely

 

Haven't had a Zoli with matt finish, but had a Kolar with matt barrels, and I will not own another. Small bumps that would not affect a regular blued barrel showed on the matt finish, and would quickly begin to show rust. The fact that Kolar charges more for gloss blued barrels confirms that their matt finish is inferior. However, I'm not sure that the Greystone finish is the same.....................at least I hope not!

Dealer told me the gray stone is very durable only on the breach . Barrels Are Matt blued.
if it’s bead blasted you would think it would be more durable .

 

I believe it was zoli who told me they were bead blasted when I asked how they achieved the matte finish. It looks distinctly different in my opinion from the kolar matte finish

 

Was wondering to see if anyone had any long term experiences with the Zoli-sport finishes, nickel vs the darker matte ones?
