Having owned and after shooting thousands of rounds through my MX8/20 I am completely smitten by the gun. It came to me as a 99% used gun with 30” 28 and 20 ga barrels. Over the years i added 33” 28ga and 33” 410 barrels. Crushes clay targets and doves !
Love the longer barrels on this gun!
The MX8/20 was a little heavy for upland bird hunting, so a couple years ago I ordered a MX20, built to my measurements with 30” 28 and 410 barrels And a matched wood forearm for 20 ga. Took the 30” 20ga barrels from the MX8/20 set and fitted them to the MX20 for a three barrel set.
It’s a upland bird gun dream. From Montana Sage Grouse, Sharptails and Huns to Georgia Quail and doves, it has become my #1 bird gun.
I always wanted to try a MX28, but finding someone in the Southeast with one to shoot has been hard to do. This past summer I found a used one with 32” barrels showed up and I figured what the heck if I don’t like it I’ll sell it. Needless to say, it has found a home! with the checked butt its a little stout if you shoot a couple rounds of sporting clays, but for dove hunting it’s a dream. Another that has found a home.
So here I am very pleased with my P guns but feel lacking for not having a MX410.
Take a guess where this is headed. 😊
